About Monstera Deliciosa

You’ve probably seen pictures of monstera plants before. They’re big, leafy plants with large, feathery leaves and bulbous roots that look like people standing in the middle of them.

You can also check:

The roots of certain varieties can grow up to a foot in diameter and contain strange, bulbous structures that look like people.

No one is quite sure what these roots are for, but it’s thought that they help the plant absorb nutrients and water from the soil.

In general, fenestration helps with the absorption of light, which improves the photosynthetic process, and also helps with the release of CO2, a greenhouse gas that is a major contributor to global warming.

so when you see this leaf, you don’t ask, “how is that possible?” You just know it’s a monster.

This is a monstera, or verbena, depending on what kind it is. If it is a philodendron, the leaves have small holes, but there are no cuts on the leaves,

or even on older leaves that are still growing. At least, no cuts that you can see. Another common example of this is that some types of orchid leaves avoid cutting because the soft tissues are so fragile that even a blade of grass could damage them.

because they are just growing. The first time you see a monstera leaf, check the back side to

hole in the leaf; common on many varieties, caused by the rapid growth of the roots when young.

Older leaves have fine slits that help to let in more light and increase the amount of air and water that pass through the leaf.

In general, the more mature the leaf, the more fenestrations it has.

How to propagate

Over the last few years, I’ve been working on some of the largest and most complex plants in the world.

I’ve grown hundreds of different plants, but one of my favorites is this, also known as the Mexican silk tree.

I’ve had the opportunity to propagate hundreds of these plants, and I’ve learned a lot about how to grow them in the most efficient way possible.

I’ve also been able to share my passion for these plants with other growers and plant enthusiasts, which has been incredibly rewarding.

The world is full of mysteries, and some of these mysteries are hidden in plain sight. Today we will learn about one of these mysteries: the reproduction of the plant genus Monstera.

In many ways, the plants of this genus are similar to those of the genus Pilea, which we recently learned to propagate on our own.

However, Monstera plants cannot be propagated on your own, and instead require specialist propagation techniques to grow them in the home.

Step 1 (Find the node on giant stem):

There are many ways through which you can propagate it.

The best way is to collect some tools to chop off one giant stem from monstera deliciosa and choose the right root method.

Before chopping off the giant stem, you have to make sure that it has at least one node on it to turn that node into the root.

Step 2 (Snip the giant stem):

Now after selection of the perfect giant stem with node, snippet that giant with sharp shears.

That giant should have an aerial root or node and leave in one as we discussed earlier in step 1. Now wash it with filtered water.

Step 3 (Keep 2-3 leaves):

If you find extra leaves, then snip those extra leaves because if all leaves start taking nutrition, then it may stop or slow down the progress of that giant stem.

Step 4 (Watering ):

Now have a medium size glass jar, filled with half of it at room temperature and put that giant stem into it. Keep observing if root rot.

Yeah! You have made one more.

Monstera deliciosa is a large, airy evergreen vine belonging to the bromeliad family native to the Caribbean and Central America.

This close relationship, combined with the striking resemblance in appearance, led to the erroneous belief that the monkey plant

There are many plants that look like it but most are Philodendron-bi-pinnatifidum and Philodendron selloum.

I’ve never seen a more perfect specimen of a plant. The leaves are a deep green, and they grow in clusters of three.

The flowers, which are an even deeper shade of green, are arranged in clusters at the tips of the branches.

They don’t open wide, but they are large enough to be seen by the naked eye.

Difference between Monstera Deliciosa and Philodendron

Both Monstera Deliciosa and Philodendron plants belong to the Arum family which includes the world’s top prettiest and easily carried houseplants.

Main difference between these plants is that both are different in shape and size of their Leaves.
